Macau Cafe in Sacramento

Chinese food, mmm, very tasty. I had a brother come into town and asked me to take him back here.

Not the freshest tasting food, I'll just say it like that, my chicken teriyaki wasn't great, chicken was dry and tough and then covered in thick syrupy tasteless teriyaki sauce. Service left much to be desired, waitresses just stated at us when we walked in, also took forever to bring menus and food out

True to the cafe name you can get most authentic Macau style cafe food here. Recommend the curry pork chop over spaghetti.

Chinese food and the setting at this spot is very good. food with real quality ingredients. i had a cousin come into town and asked me to take him back here. the place has a good feel to it. feels like a place in charlotte that i enjoyed visiting.

Macau Cafe is by far my favorite Chinese restaurant in Sacramento. A hole-in-the-wall right in the heart of Land Park. They serve authentic dishes from China, Hong Kong, and Macau. I love the Ma Pao Tofu with their fried Scallop Fried rice. Also try the salt and pepper chicken wings. Those are to die for! Have a Hong Kong style iced lemon tea with everything. I love the staff here. The ladies are incredibly nice. I've been eating here for almost ten years now. Still my favorite!

it is good the food, but mostly is chinese food, i drove here to try the fusion between portuguesecand chinese food, because macau was portuguese till the year 2000 and tge influence of the cortuguese culture made it true the culinary. here macau cafe is a good chinese food and has no influence on portuguese cukture 5 stars for the food

Reasonably priced and the food is delish! The chow fun, large flat soft rice noodles stir fried with beef, onions and bean sprouts are simply delish! What's also really killer good is a dish that looks like really big won tons in soup called (if I can sound this out correctly...) Would be like "seew gow"; oh man I would cut someone for an order of these! Hah! The meat is primarily shrimp, pork (I think), bamboo shoots, a special mushroom and probably something else I missed. Dont be a total loser - order it! Do it now! :)

HKTea was delicious. I asked two times for napkins from the lady server. But i finally got it from the guy server. A whole stack! Porridge was thick and full of chicken (strangely white). Bbq pork is more like pork belly. If you like fat, this is up your alley. It was done well. Boiled chicken was good with green onions and ginger sauce.

I ordered Kung pao chicken without onion. They brought it out with onion in it. I asked that they take it back since I have a mild allergy to them. I watched them take it back into the kitchen and pick out the onions and then bring it back. They didn't even try to do a good job of hiding that they did that since it still had some onion slices in it. The server even tried to blame the mistake on me. This is a massive health code violation I'm thinking about reporting them.

Good food and Service

This is by far some of the best Chinese food i have ever had! Authentic and tasty. The staff was unbelievably friendly. The food was reasonably priced and portions were fair. Fast Service even though it was relatively busy. Atmosphere was cute but simple. Nothing tiky taky about it. Just a hole in the wall cafe. 5 stars! I would give it 6 if i could! An absolute MUST if your near the area.

A favorite spot for quality Chinese food. got there about two, it was not packed. i've had nothing but pleasant experiences here and plan to keep coming back. the place has a great atmosphere.

Chinese food can be hit or miss. Service is lacking. Closed Thursdays, but open later than most other restaurants.

I like this place! The food is authentic. I originally this place coming out of Sprouts. The windows were lined with pictures of food and I was hungry so I decided to try it out. The workers were pleasant. They greeted me at the door and assisted with taking my order. The first visit, I ordered War Wonton soup to go. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was packed in two container, one for broth and the other had the wontons, meat and vegetables. The soup was very flavorful. It was full of various vegetables and meats. My second visit I ordered chicken and mushrooms lunch special. It was not as flavorful as the wonton soup, but still authentic. The serving size was appropriate for a lunch special. I recently saw this place listed in the top 10 for Chinese restaurants in Sacramento. They deserve to be.

I've eaten at Macau for several years and am finally ready to admit that they're not as good as I keep hoping they are. After being disappointed the past few times I've gone, it's about time I moved on.Whenever I go, we always order a whole bunch of their salt and peppered dishes, like their squid, eggplant and shrimp, and their famous tofu dish. However, after several experiences of the same dishes that were once fantastic now turned bland and soggy, I'm over Macau Cafe. Their prices aren't exactly the cheapest for Chinese food and considering there are so many other Chinese restaurants in Sac, I'd rather go someplace else for tastier food with bigger portions. My personal choice, Rice Bowl. Granted its not really Hong Kong Style, when you want good Chinese food, don't go to Macau.

The honey ribs are delicious! Clean place and good customer service. Fast service and they also accommodate the disabled. I broke my ankle and had placed a phone order. I was unable to walk in so they brought it out to the curb! I was very impressed with the service.
